A Week In Madeira – 7. Cabo Girão Skywalk

At 580 metres, the Cabo Girão Skywalk in Madeira is the highest cliff skywalk in Europe. It is made of transparent glass to provide stunning views to visitors. At the foot of the cliff, there is a small area of cultivated land called Fajãs do Cabo Girão. Previously only accessible by boat, in Aug 2003 a cable car was installed for easier access for the farmers. Cabo Girão is a popular spot for para-gliding and in September 2014, the travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler rated it as the fifth “Most Incredible Sea Cliff In The World.”
