Te Mata Cape Crest 2019: “Since 1984, Cape Crest has developed an international following for its unique expression of New Zealand sauvignon blanc from Hawke’s Bay. Barrel fermented, with a touch of semillon and sauvignon gris, it is concentrated and complex with toast, citrus blossom, pear and stonefruit characters.

During production separate parcels of the wine were lightly crushed, then pressed and cold-settled before running to a mixture of new and seasoned French oak barrels for fermentation. The wines were then aged on lees for a further eight months before bottling in January 2020.

Cape Crest ’19 is a blend of 86% sauvignon blanc, 8% semillon and 6% sauvignon gris.”

This limited addition release from Beaumont is a blend of 21% Chardonnay, 14% Pinot Noir, 65% Pinot Meunier giving it a richer fuller flavour. A fruity and captivating nose with notes of plum jam and ripe fruit and brioche. Full-bodied with the brewing on a complex fruitiness of yellow fruits and floral notes. On the palate, it is a lively attack combining aromas of candied fruit such as lemon or pear with aromas of pastry. Tasty and refreshing palate. A long, racy and elegant finish with finesse.
