The 2015 Christmas Lunch of the Harrogate Medical Wine Society was held at the Masonic Hall in Harrogate on Sunday 13 December. 52 members and guests attended the event.
Cremant d’Alsace Brut, Joseph Cattin en magnum was poured on arrival. Ken Forrester Old Vine Reserve Chenin Blanc 2014 accompanied traditional prawn cocktail/roasted red pepper and tomato soup/asparagus wrapped in Parma ham with rocket and parmesan. Te Mata Estate Syrah 2013 and Chateau Ste Michelle Indian Wells Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 partnered Traditional turkey with all the trimmings/Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding/Roast salmon steak with salsa verde. Traditional Christmas pudding with rum sauce/Strawberry and passion fruit pavlova/Apple and mincemeat tart followed. Graham’s Six Grapes Port was served with Stilton and crackers.
